Nepal Katmandu Family Entertainment Center 1280㎡
Let me state this client's story, they are from Nepal, actaully this is our first customer from Nepal.
They came to Guangzhou,China, six people, live in hotel at Yuexiu district ,guangzhou.
Some of them can speak English, some can not.
They have plan to build a children amusement park.
At that time, they even do not have a real building yet.
So they met with us and talk about the general indoor playground structure by a handdraw.
The clinets are seriouly on the design and structures.
Before we go on the project, the customers went to our factory to check the prduction line and work craft of the playground equipment.
They know we Huaqi Amusement Co., Ltd is a real factory can support whole indoor playground project from design to production and installation work.
One of them know English well, his name is Rinji, a yound man at 30 years old.
He came to our design office and take a seat, work together with me and our designer.
We are happy on this !
You know, if client has general idea about the amusment park layout, that will be helpful for our cooperation work.
Our design set up CAD map with detailed size information, and we talked the playground structure and game machine with the client.
We worked to middle night 02:00am
Then after times revised, we make out the design.
Ocean themed kids park with soft play equipment, Pirate Ship with music ladders, kids trampoline inside the boat.
Ocean balls with 8 cm diameter.
You know Nepal is an inland country with no coastline. Ocean-themed children's playgrounds are very attractive to children.
On the left of the kids park, there is a zipline there.
It is a nice design.
The other zone is the trampoline zone.
On the left is the "Devil Slide". The term "Devil Slide" means that the slope of the slide is very steep, providing a highly thrilling experience and requiring courage. This is also related to the sport-themed style of this indoor amusement park.
In the trampoline area, an boxing area has been added. Boxing gloves and fences have been provided for the children to ensure their safety.
The trampoline in the boxing area has the logo of the guests on it. This logo was designed and produced for the guests by us.
According to above design and quotation list.
The clients and us had two rounds of price negotiations.
Then we agreed upon.
We do business and we are also good friends.
Indoor children’s playgrounds across Nepal are still at an early development stage. Nearly all operating projects are concentrated within the Kathmandu Valley, covering Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. Outside this capital region, you can barely find any well-built indoor play facilities. Most existing venues are small play corners inside shopping malls, usually between 20 to 80 square meters. They feature basic soft play structures, ocean ball pits and compact slides, designed mainly for toddlers, serving as an extra attraction for mall visitors rather than standalone profitable businesses.
A handful of larger family entertainment centers stand out in the market. These bigger sites combine trampolines, foam pits, obstacle courses, mini racing games and dedicated party zones. They target not only young kids but also teenagers and whole families. Birthday party bookings make up a large share of their monthly revenue. Nepal has no local factories producing playground equipment. Almost all operators import their supplies, mostly from China and India. When sourcing, local buyers put cost performance first, then check the quality of soft padding and safety details.
The customer base mainly consists of middle-class families living in the Kathmandu area. For ordinary households, indoor play is a weekend luxury instead of daily recreation. Venues see very light traffic on weekdays, with sales peaking on weekends, public holidays and birthday reservations. Local owners face many practical challenges. High shop rent and frequent power cuts are constant headaches. Import logistics and customs clearance are complicated. Most goods shipped from Guangzhou take the land route through Kolkata to Nepal, which leads to high transport costs and unpredictable lead times. Also, there are no strict national safety standards for playgrounds, so some older small venues use thin padding and inadequate protection.
Even with these hurdles, the market holds promising potential. More shopping malls keep opening in Kathmandu. Local parents are growing more willing to spend on safe indoor activities to escape heavy monsoon rains and hot summer weather. Operators who only build simple soft play areas often hit revenue limits. Mixed venues with attractions for older children always perform much better.
Nevertheless, investors must watch out for obvious risks. The wealth gap between consumers is wide, limiting expansion to smaller cities. Long import cycles and unclear safety regulations need careful planning. For overseas playground suppliers, Nepal represents a blue ocean market. There is steady rising demand for affordable, durable and well-designed indoor playground packages for new mall projects and independent family entertainment centers.
